Pure Lady 非常女 [Taiwanese song, English translation]

This is a song sung by Fay Huang in Taiwanese, a dialect similar to the Hokkien dialect of the mainland. It's the theme song for a Pili Glove Puppetry (Budaixi) TV series character.

The character is a tragic young woman, whose name literally means "Extraordinary Lady" (translated as "Pure Lady", to signify her lovable, innocent, and courageous character).

Pure Lady first entered the underworld full of curiosity and spirit. However, she was naively deceived and raped by an evil guy while trying to reform him. Pregnant with the reincarnation of the Evil Lord, She was hunted down by both the righteous and evil sides, and was killed in the end.

[Pure Lady]

OS:
In this critical period,
Men with great spirits are needed.
Even more essential, are free-spirited women.
We call this one extraordinarily strong-willed woman,
"Pure Lady".

*Good looks are useless, the wealthy step aside
My Mr. Right is the one most heroic

*Wind! Please carry my love to the sky
To transform into rain, and sprinkle that silly goose awake

*Wind is my whisper, rain is my devotion
Dreams woven by true love are such sweeter than nectar
To love for a moment, to pay for a thousand years

I don't need blind love, I dislike the powerful
My Mr. Right is the one most ambitious

Moon! Please lighten the road to my love
Don't leave me lost in the dark

Dreams are my affection, tears are my sorrow
Dreams woven by longing are such sweet happiness
Walking this bitter-sweet road, when will my true love come?

REPEAT*
