I’m in love with Renee Zellweger

8/25

I am attracted to Renee Zellweger ever since I rented ‘Miss Potter’. After I’ve seen ‘Chicago’, I am interested in her even more. Despite the fact that her character in the musical film was what my friend called “a dumb, phoney bitch”, I decided Roxie was too cute to force upon accusations of any kind.

Ain't she gorgeous?

I had seen some of Renee Zellweger’s film before, namely B.J’s Diary 1&2, and Cold Mountain, but did not have the same feeling as I have for her now. I tried to analyse this, and my conclusion was that the reason lay mostly in her character in Miss Potter. I could not resist Miss Potter’s imaginative personality in the film, nor resist the innocent, first/true love plot (Similarly, Amelie and Nino in ‘Amelie’). Besides, her portrayal of a woman in love was so well performed that I shed tears with her. Apart from that was Renee Zellweger’s own voice, a gentle, soothing, mid-range pitch, especially in the Special Features interview on the DVD, when she was still a brunette.

All this was unexpected. I didn’t even want to rent Miss Potter in the first place; at least not that soon. I changed my mind after an incident at Civics: The trailer was showing the scene where Miss Potter and her publisher were both in turn saying “you must do it again, and again, and again.” Andrew, one of the employees, mimicked the line and broke into laugher. I became curious, thus leading into seeing Miss Potter (and loving Renee Zellweger) perhaps three years earlier than I intended to.
